For the tech-savvy creators in our community, here is a quick look under the hood.

We used to rely on a traditional web recording setup paired with a tool called ffmpeg.wasm to handle video conversions and editing. While powerful, it required strict browser security configurations that broke mobile compatibility and clashed with features like the Google Drive Picker.

By migrating entirely to the modern WebCodecs API paired with lightweight native tools (mp4-muxer and mp4box.js), Slideator now skips the browser's "black box" automation. We process raw, hardware-accelerated H.264 video and AAC audio frames directly on your device. This eliminated all security conflicts, removed the need for clunky conversions, and unlocked desktop-class video editing natively on mobile screens.
